Ok, well, without the touch screen working, I could not eject the Map Disc to set any other original CD ROM, so I brought it back to GMC dealer for more help. But clearly the screen still worked, because there were those yellow letters. No more backup camera, no dvd player, no changing stations on XM radio, no navigation. No longer had access to touch screen, but the radio still worked (I could hear it). When I tried installing this new map disc, after waiting the prescribed 10 minutes to allow it to download and update the system (with engine running), the screen went black, and then there were two lines in yellow lettering - the first line in Chinese (or Japanese) and the second in English saying "Set Original CD-ROM". I did so, paying $180 for the newest disc which was dated 2015 (in April 2016). They gave me the GM website on which to purchase this specific new map disc. ![]() They told me I probably needed a new map disc - they couldn't figure anything else out. Everything else worked fine (radio, dvd, backup camera), so I ignored it for about a month, and then when I brought it to the dealer for the next oil change, I asked them to take a look at it and tell me what's wrong with it. A few months ago, I started getting this 'MAP DISC READ ERROR' notice on the screen, and I could hear the map disc spinning behind the radio touch screen. Before you buy a new radio - read this! My 2009 GMC Acadia with Nav system and DENSO radio/DVD player system along with Nav system was working fine when I purchased the vehicle a year ago.
